Conference’s target is to launch Report Rural Poland 2008, presenting newest, that were not published before, data concerning situation of Polish rural areas. During the meeting authors of the report will present data and outcomes of their research, as well as description of the rural society.
Report „Rural Poland 2008” is interdisciplinary publication presenting economic situation of agriculture, demographical changes, social relations and political picture of Polish rural areas.
2008 edition of the report presents Polish rural areas and agriculture in the moment when changes caused by the Polish membership in the European Union, have become visible. In four years after the accession we turn attention to strengthening of positive tendencies in agriculture, deriving advantages from Common Agriculture Policy as well as Regional Policy support. We analyze changes in the sources of income of the main social groups and influence of the structural funds on the income structure of farmers and rural inhabitants.
Scope of the Report has been partially inspired by the twentieth anniversary of Foundation for Development of Polish Agriculture work. One of report’s chapters presents history and role of this, the oldest “rural” foundation in the post-war Poland, in building the civil society in rural areas.
Publication is published in two language versions: Polish and English.
Conference is to be occasion to widening knowledge, discussions and exchange of experiences.
