How to prepare to unavoidable changes? How to minimize their negative impact?

The conference "Climate change, agriculture and rural areas" was organized in the Residency of Ambassador of the British Embassy in Warsaw on 15 November 2007.

Conference is one of the activities of the Project. The conference’s goal was to present climate change influence on the agriculture sector and rural areas as well as demonstrate possibilities of minimizing negative effects of those changes through adaptation activities. Also possibilities of climate protection through certain agrarian practices were presented.

The conference raised wide interest among various stakeholders. About 150 people came to the conference. It was found as very informative, interesting and inspiring event. The conference allowed for exchange of experiences, as well as presentation of up-today knowledge in the subject of climate change and agriculture. In the discussion important issues appeared, which, in the opinion of participants, should be further developed in the future. The necessity of education and informative activities were underlined several times by the most of participants.
