The overall objective of the project was to facilitate and enhance widespread discussion in Poland on the issues surrounding the genetic engineering. In order to accomplish the overall objective FDPA and ISD organized the project around two kinds of activities: development of the professional Report on GMOs in Poland and information actions.
The aim of the project was to present opportunities and dangers of new technologies. The first phase of the project was publication of the report on GMOs in Poland (“Genetically Modified Organisms – Who is right?”) and starting information actions. During the realization of the project meetings and conferences were organized, in which about 1000 people took part. In the year 2003 second edition of the Report on GMOs in Poland in was published in the Polish and English language versions.
The project was realized in the cooperation with the Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD).
